New Additions [3/12/11]
There is a scene in the documentary Scratch where Cut Chemist is talking about how his friend T-Ray (Grammy-award winning producer Todd Ray) can go into a town and just smell the records. This is how I feel every Saturday when I pull into the Greenwood Avenue parking lot outside of Magnolia Thunderpussy. Lingering just above the smell of body odor and alcohol from the bums who meet on the concrete couch is the smell of LPs. I usually find something good and today was no exception.
The Dismemberment Plan – Emergency & I
The only thing that would make this better is if “Face of the Earth” was on it and not on Change. Guess I’ll have to wait for that reissue, too.
Deerhunter – Cryptograms LP and Fluorescent Grey EP
Abraham Lincoln. Joey Ramone. Bradford Cox. All three against slavery (probably), all three with Marfan Syndrome (definitely). If I started a band I would want to be a lot like Deerhunter, so if you have Marfan Syndrome and want to jam, just let me know.
