Cold War Kids [3/16/11]
Originally scheduled at the Newport, this show was quickly moved by PromoWest Productions to the LC once ticket sales indicated a demand much greater than the Newport’s capacity. When did Cold War Kids get so big? Was it “Mexican Dogs” in the Heineken commercial? Some sort of Christian solidarity after the backlash? The fact that tickets were cheap? Whatever the reason, the show sold out and it was tremendously average. At one point, I think there may have been crowd surfing toward the front, which likely marks the first time anyone has ever crowd surfed at a Cold War Kids show. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.
Next show: Either the Lonely Forest in Toronto or The Books in Columbus. Game time decision.
