Cold War Kids [3/16/11]

Originally scheduled at the Newport, this show was quickly moved by PromoWest Productions to the LC once ticket sales indicated a demand much greater than the Newport’s capacity.  When did Cold War Kids get so big?  Was it “Mexican Dogs” in the Heineken commercial?  Some sort of Christian solidarity after the backlash?  The fact that tickets were cheap?  Whatever the reason, the show sold out and it was tremendously average.   Read more

There is a scene in the documentary Scratch where Cut Chemist is talking about how his friend T-Ray (Grammy-award winning producer Todd Ray) can go into a town and just smell the records.  This is how I feel every Saturday when I pull into the Greenwood Avenue parking lot outside of Magnolia Thunderpussy.   Read more
